For our March Klingel Homes GIVE project we decided to highlight the organization Kids Belong. For over 8 years, Kids Belong has worked to bring awareness to adoption and foster care in West Michigan thru local churches and beyond. This organization believes in one guiding fundamental principle – that kids belong in families. Families are where kids in the foster care system will have their best chance to thrive, to grow, and to heal.
Kids Belong strives to support local families in Muskegon and Ottawa Counties that are currently fostering children and to raise awareness for the huge need for families to foster children. Just in our local community here in West Michigan there are over 600 children that are in the foster care system that need homes.
As a volunteer non-profit organization Kids Belong does their best to provide emotional, spiritual, and physical support to children and families. In both Muskegon and now in Ottawa Counties foster families can shop at the Kids Belong Closet for new clothing, diapers, birthday gifts, and other supplies. Klingel Homes had the privilege of donating new kid’s clothes to the Grand Haven Closet that just opened at Watermark Church.
Consider making a difference in the community and donate here!
